How Does The US Presence In Iraq Affect Israel

“I don’t think there’s any strong connection between the war in a Iraq to Israel. I think that Israel is taking care of herself.”

I think that a heavy US troop presence anywhere in the Middle East, would affect Israel in a positive way. Since when is having your best friend, right by your side, ready to throw down, ever a negative? Maybe the greatest benefit to Israel was removing Saddam Hussein from power. He did have a tendency to threaten Israel regularly and back up those threats up with the occasional Scud missile attack.

So here’s my question to you:

How do you think the large US troop presence in Iraq effect’s Israel; how do you think it effects the overall stability of the middle east?
